What can your mind design?

I love to see the wonderful variations that come from everyone! There are no prizes or voting, just pure enjoyment. If you have quilts already made that fit the "rules" send in a photo!

Current Challenge - photos due by 9/30/09: 

Theme: Black and White Checkerboard

  • Some portion of your quilt must include a Black and White Checkerboard.
  • Your quilt may be any finished size (all pictures upload to the gallery at the same size).
  • You can use any colors that you feel support the theme. 

Send 1) photo of your quilt, 2) your name, and 3) a couple sentances describing your quilt or your design process to:         challengephotos@thecommittedquilter.com

My winning Challenge Quilt:

Above is a portion of my winning quilt in my local quilt guilds' 2001 quilt challenge! Just by chance, Simply Quilts chose to air our quilt guild and the quilt challenge that year, so this quilt made it on TV.

The rules as I remember them were:

  • The theme was: A Quilt Odessey
  • We were given a piece of the paisley fabric which we were to make dominent in the quilt
  • The quilt could not be larger than 40 inches in diameter
