Set your quilting resolutions for 2009

5 Jan 2009

Get started on your quilt resolutions today!

Quilt Resolutions?  Of course! We set goals for a variety of areas in our life, why not our quilting?

Generally our quilting is a hobby that comes after the many other priorities in our lives, but that doesn't mean we don't want to continue expanding our skills or work toward a goal.  For me, when I devote time to my hobbies, it balances the other pressures in my life and I feel better all way around.  If my hobby becomes stale and I do the same thing over and over, it doesn't provide me that sense of gratification and wonder that I need in a hobby.  If you feel the same, set some resolutions to keep your hobby fresh and challenging!

Pick one or two ideas from this list to get you started or come up with your own.

  • Make a quilt entirely from your stash.
  • Make a quilt using a color you really don't like.  (I thought I didn't like yellow and orange, but now couldn't work without those colors.) Which color(s) challenge you?
  • Make a quilt using at least one striped fabric.

  • Make a two fabric quilt. Let your design bring the fabrics to life

  • Make a quilt using one new technique.
  • Make a quilt for a charity project.

  • Make a quilt for yourself!   Completely finish, including quilting and binding, 2 quilts that are in one stage or another of progress.
  • Attend at least one quilt show. A two for one - You support the guilds sponsoring the event and you kindle your quilting excitement.

My goal is to assist you in your goals by providing great content and inspirations on this site to meet your quilting resolutions!

Happy quilting throughout this New Year of 2009!

Cindy
